First Holy Communion

Preparation for the sacrament of the Eucharist is offered to children in their eighth year – Year 3 at school.  During this time, the children are invited and helped to appreciate more deeply the important event we celebrate, and to remember the promise of Jesus to be with us always in the sharing of bread and wine. For a child to be accepted into the First Communion Programme, it is required that at least one parent is a practising Catholic and that the family attend Mass at this Church.

The next course does not begin until January 2018 and registration form will be available at mass and on this page from November.

FIRST CONFESSION OR RECONCILIATION

Preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Penance) for the first time is an exciting time.  It is a time for focus on God’s mercy, how we forgive among our family, friends, and community, and how we celebrate forgiveness.  In our parish the preparation for this sacrament is part of the course in which children prepare for their First Holy Communion.
